Suzan DelBene has represented Washington’s First Congressional District since 2012.  Suzan currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, which is at the forefront of debate on taxes, healthcare and retirement security. In addition, Suzan serves on the House Budget Committee where she is working toward a bipartisan, long-term budget solution that reduces our deficit and grows our economy.

One of her top legislative priorities is providing for veterans.  She recently sponsored the Manufacturing Jobs for Veterans Act, to accelerate skills training for veterans in manufacturing career pathways and to encourage manufacturers to recruit, hire and train our heroes. Suzan is also a cosponsor of the Putting Our Veterans Back to Work Act, which would reauthorize and strengthen successful programs such as the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP), provide support to veteran-owned small businesses, and create a new online portal for veterans seeking information on federal employment and job-training resources.

With a strong background in technology and business, Suzan is also the co-founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Internet of Things Caucus.  There are many out-of-date laws on the books that fail to protect Americans’ privacy and leave a great deal of uncertainty for U.S. companies doing business domestically and overseas.  Suzan has introduced several bills that would address these issues, such as the Online Communication and Geolocation Protection Act, the Surveillance Order Reporting Act, and the Secure Data Act.

PNDC partners with Northwest Congressional Members to streamline and strengthen federal procurement processes to improve long-term return on investment in defense and security contracts.  We support reforms that increase fairness and consistency, improve access by contractors of all sizes, and strengthen Northwest contractors who deliver high quality products and services.

These Congressional Roundtables are free for all PNDC members, but space is limited so please RSVP today.
