Lieutenant Colonel Isaac G. Lee USMC (Ret.)

Isaac G. Lee, Lieutenant Colonel, USMC (Ret.) served for twenty years as an officer and aviator in the United States Marine Corps, where he executed seven operational deployments, including four combat deployments in support of the Global War on Terror. During his time in service, Isaac also served as an instructor at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One, earned a master’s degree with a focus on leadership and operational art, served as the budgeting officer for the Marine Corps $2.5B Flight Hour program at the Pentagon, and ultimately served as the Commanding Officer of an operational squadron.

 In his memoir, HANGAR 4, he shares the lessons, the rewards, the losses, and ultimately, the personal cost. Isaac pushed every boundary he encountered as a combat aviator, repeatedly testing his own mettle under harsh wartime conditions. He sets a high standard in HANGAR 4 with his candid accounting of a transformative journey that took place while he endeavored to balance life in the squadron, in the cockpit, in war zones, and at home. Combat defines every warfighter, along with episodes of survivor's guilt, emotional numbness, and lingering grief. Personal reckoning occurs in the aftermath of war.
