This session will help businesses in the defense aerospace supply chain gain the intelligence needed to plan for the future and identify business opportunities.

Join JJ Gertler, Senior Specialist in Military Aviation, Congressional Research Service (CRS). Congress’ in-house think tank, CRS is well-known for analysis that is authoritative and nonpartisan. Mr. Gertler will once again share his valuable insights into the strategic context on Department of Defense priorities and military aerospace spending.

 SPEAKER:

JEREMIAH “J.J.” GERTLER - Specialist in Military Aviation, Congressional Research Service
A veteran of defense policy analysis since 1984, Jeremiah Gertler became the military aviation analyst for the Congressional Research Service, Congress’s in-house policy shop, in 2009. He writes and maintains reports on major military aviation programs (manned and unmanned, all services); briefs members and staff on all related policy, budget, technical, and other matters; and testifies before Congressional committees.
This is his third Capitol Hill billet. He oversaw the defense procurement budget, missile defense, and other matters on the professional staff of the House Committee on Armed Services for the FY2000 through 2005 budgets, and earlier served as military legislative assistant to a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Immediately prior to coming to CRS, Gertler established a defense policy and analysis center for the Aerospace Industries Association. As senior fellow at the Center for Strategic & International Studies, he was principal author or coauthor of major reports on Department of Defense reform and missile defense, and initiated studies on reserve component roles and missions, systems acquisition, military logistics, and Special Forces aviation. More....
